Integrating Affirmations is an experiential workshop designed to help you develop meaningful and effective affirmations and to incorporate these affirmations into your daily life through art, meditation, and even housework!  The workshop is accessible for affirmation newbies and long-time practioners of positive thinking.  Art materials are provided, but you may bring your own crayons, pencils, etc.

Mandalas for Self Healing

an Art Therapy Workshop

Mandalas are ancient “sacred circles” used for centuries by cultural all over the world.  Kat Johnston, local Art Therapist, leads you in learning about the healing qualities and modern day uses of mandalas in art therapy.  Create your own mandala and explore/ discover possible meanings and interpretations of your symbols.  “Mandalas for self healing” will be a fun, powerful experience resulting in a new technique for you to use in your personal growth and healing journey!

Hawthorne Community Acupuncture with Eva Zeller starts in September

Over the past nine years Eva has used acupuncture to help people conquer pain, manage stress, and get pregnant. A lifelong yoga aficionado and graduate of Dhyana Yoga’s teacher training program, she will probably recommend a few asanas for you to enhance the effects of your acupuncture treatments.  She is a nationally certified (NCCAOM) and PA-state licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine and a certificate of completion in Japanese acupuncture techniques from Morinomiya College of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Osaka, Japan.

When she’s not doing acupuncture, Eva can often be found with her dog, Greta, at the park around the corner from the Studio.

Eva will be seeing clients at the new Philly Community Wellness/Learn Reiki Philadelphia space Saturdays and Mondays 10am-1pm beginning in September.  She will honor the accepted standard sliding scale of the Community Acupuncture Network-just $15-35 per treatment with additional $10 paperwotk fee for your first visit.  Treatments take place in a comfortable group environment-bring your friends and family members with you! Welcome, Eva, and thank you for bringing your services to the people of South Philadelphia!

We’d like to welcome the addition of our newest teacher, Melissa Ameika.  She is a grad of The Reiki School of Philadelphia’s teacher training in June 2009, she has been teaching ever since;  and has offered her services as a Reiki volunteer in Philadelphia’s animal shelter system and Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Melissa’s practice has also had a string focus on affordability and bringing Reiki to as many people as possible.  We could not be more thrilled to have her on board!

Melissa will be teaching Reiki 1 with us on Thursday afternoons starting Sept. 9.  See our entire Fall catalog below.

Reiki Level 3 Master/Teacher – Bimonthly Sundays from 1:30-4:30pm

Deepen your practice and understanding of Reiki with our Reiki Mastership program.  This 16 week course guides you through advanced self healing, student teaching, workshop leadership, business & professional considerations, and writing your own manual.  Thorough and work intensive, you’ll leave with everything you need to teach your very first class!

YOU decide where you fall within the sliding scale.  No income verification, no questions asked.  Flexible payment plans and some work exchange are also available.

Beginning this Sunday, Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki will be hosting a weekly Circle and Share open to everyone.   Those trained in Reiki will be invited to share sessions with each other, while those new to the practice will be able to join in a Reiki Circle led by a Practitioner.  A great place to brush up your practice, meet friendly people, or try something new!
