By student request, we have changed the date and time of one of our Reiki 2 Fall offerings:

Thursday evenings 6-9pm Sept. 9 – Nov. 11

Friday mornings 10am-1pm Sept. 10-Nov. 12

Canceled:  Monday afternoons 2-5pm Sept. 13 -  Nov. 15

Danielle Stimpson will teach both classes.

Reiki 1 classes will run as scheduled:

Monday evenings 6-9pm Sept. 13 – Nov. 1 with Danielle Stimpson &  Thursday afternoons 2-5pm Sept. 9 – Oct. 28 with Melissa Ameika

Reiki 3 will also remain the same:

Bimonthly Sundays 1:30-4:30pm, Class dates 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, 12/19, 1/9, 1/23 - Correspondence training available

All classes: Work Exchange and Payment Plans are available at no extra charge.

New Classes, a new space…and a new teacher!

Levels 1, 2 and 3…we’ve got them all this fall!

We’d like to welcome the addition of our newest teacher, Melissa Ameika.  She is a grad of The Reiki School of Philadelphia’s teacher training in June 2009, she has been teaching ever since;  and has offered her services as a Reiki volunteer in Philadelphia’s animal shelter system and Abramson Cancer Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Melissa’s practice has also had a string focus on affordability and bringing Reiki to as many people as possible.  We could not be more thrilled to have her on board!

Melissa will be teaching Reiki 1 with us on Thursday afternoons starting Sept. 9.  See our entire Fall catalog below.

We’re also opening up our own space! Just across the hallway from Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki at 1241 Carpenter St. in South Philadelphia. All classes will take place in the new location, which opens officially on Sept. 1.  Expect news about our Grand Opening festivities for Labor Day Weekend!

Develop a practice of healing touch with no prior experience needed.  You’ll gain confidence  treating yourself and others with lots of support and practice.  Half classroom and half hands on, we’ll cover everything from energy basics to bedside manor.  Perfect for self enrichment or professional development.

Reiki Level 3 Master/Teacher – Bimonthly Sundays from 1:30-4:30pm

Class Dates 6/13, 6/27, 7/11, 7/25, 8/8, 8/22, 9/12, 9/26

Deepen your practice and understanding of Reiki with our Reiki Mastership program.  This 16 week course guides you through advanced self healing, student teaching, workshop leadership, business & professional considerations, and writing your own manual.  Thorough and work intensive, you’ll leave with everything you need to teach your very first class!

Sliding Scale $475-600

How do our “Sliding Scales” work?

YOU decide where you fall within the sliding scale.  No income verification, no questions asked.  Flexible payment plans and some work exchange are also available.

Announcing a Weekly Reiki Circle & Share!

Beginning this Sunday, Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki will be hosting a weekly Circle and Share open to everyone.   Those trained in Reiki will be invited to share sessions with each other, while those new to the practice will be able to join in a Reiki Circle led by a Practitioner.  A great place to brush up your practice, meet friendly people, or try something new!

Sundays 6:30-8:30pm (please arrive by 7pm)

Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki, 1241 Carpenter St (across from the Hawthorne Rec Center, nearest 13th St.)

Suggested Donation $5

Please note-Hawthorne has 1 massage table and numerous floor mats, cushions, blankets, and props.  We reserve the massage table for those who are physically unable to use the floor.

Reiki Circle & Share

SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2010 6:30PM-8:30PM

A Reiki Circle and Share open to ANYONE, regardless of background, training , or lack thereof. Trade sessions with others if you are trained, or join in a Reiki circle led by a Reiki Master or Practitioner if you’re not. A safe, supportive space to try something new, and a positive place to support your personal healing. We’ll conclude with a distance Reiki circle to benefit the City of Philadelphia, the Nation, the Earth, and anyone requesting the energy be sent their way.

Suggested Donation – $5

*Donations benefit students of Learn Reiki Philadelphia who are “going Pro” by helping to defray the cost of their Professional insurance. Each dollar will support affordable healing-and employment-in your own community.

TWO Reiki Level 1 Classes Beginning in May

Mariposa Food Co-Op  (West Philly) Wednesdays, 6:00-9:00pm May 12-June 30

Hawthorne Yoga & Reiki  (South Philly) Thursdays, 6:00-9:00pm May 20-July 8

Learn Reiki, the gentle healing touch from Japan, and impact the wellness of yourself and others!

This class offers equal amounts of hands-on practice and classroom learning, and is appropriate for professional development and personal enrichment. Students will develop the ability to give Reiki to themselves and others with confidence, and learn a thorough understanding of energy work.

Within this course are two public clinics where volunteers are invited to receive a free session from a student.  This allows students to support the community while gaining practice in a supportive group setting.

Reiki 1 Tuition~ Sliding Scale $225-$325
